Aelius Front-End Module Program with GaN Technology

In this European Microwave Week (EuMW) presentation replay, hear about trends in RF front-end module design as well as implementation for beamsteering and phased array systems using a combination of Si and GaAs/GaN chipsets. The design work in this talk focuses on the schematic/layout design of a three-stage mmWave power amplifier GaN MMIC in Microwave Office software along with EM analysis using the AXIEM 3D EM planar solver. The large signal simulation versus measured results shows excellent agreement, thereby validating the design approach and accuracy of the simulation tools.
