Course Description
In this course, you use the Virtuoso® Analog Design (G) XL environment and its corresponding assistants and workspaces to evaluate the Mismatch Contribution from devices and run Sensitivity Analysis on an op-amp design. You learn to interpret the sensitivity analysis results. You also set up a local optimization run to find optimized parameters for your design and then create worst-case corners before proceeding to run a high-yield estimation simulation. Toward the end of the course, you use manual tuning methods to fine tune your design parameters.
Learning Objectives
After completing this course, you will be able to:
- Run sensitivity analysis and use various optimization methods to optimize your circuit parameters
Software Used in This Course
- Virtuoso Schematic Editor
- Virtuoso Analog Design Environment XL
- Spectre® Classic Simulator
Software Release(s)
IC 6.1.7 ISR12, SPECTRE 16.1
Modules in this Course
- Sensitivity Analysis
- Circuit Optimization
Audience
- Analog IC Design Engineers
- Custom Circuit Designers
Prerequisites
You should have experience with the related software or have completed the following courses:
If you have not taken these courses, then you need the equivalent experience in design entry with Virtuoso Schematic Editor L and XL and basic simulation with ADE L. This also implies that you have experience in analyzing simulation waveforms using a waveform viewer/editor. You can also meet this requirement by having taken the ADE IC 5.1.41 course or by having substantial experience using ADE iC 5.1.41 in running simulations.
