Course Description
In this course, you use the Virtuoso® Analog Design Environment (ADE) XL and its corresponding assistants and workspaces to analyze transistor-level designs. You visualize the waveform results in the Virtuoso Visualization and Analysis (ViVA) XL tool. You then create multiple tests and run analyses simultaneously. Finally, you simulate designs against specifications, manage simulation history, and create datasheets.
Learning Objectives
After completing this course, you will be able to:
- Customize the Virtuoso ADE XL simulation environment by creating workspaces, using bookmarks and tabs, and running multiple processes
- Use the ADE XL simulation environment and available assistants to set up and run simulations on an analog circuit
- Run analysis for multiple tests simultaneously using separate testbenches
- Set specifications for circuit performance and evaluate pass/fail scenarios
- Manage history items that contain previous simulation results
- Create datasheets using information available in simulation history
Software Used in This Course
- Virtuoso Schematic Editor
- Virtuoso Analog Design Environment XL
- Spectre® Classic Simulator
Software Release(s)
IC 6.1.7 ISR12, SPECTRE16.1
Modules in this Course
- The Virtuoso Analog Design XL Environment
- Working with ADE XL Outputs
- Simulation History
Audience
- Analog IC Design Engineers
- Custom Circuit Designers
Prerequisites
You must have experience with related software or must have completed the following courses:
If you have not taken these courses, then you need the equivalent experience in design entry with Virtuoso Schematic Editor L and XL and basic simulation with ADE L. This also implies that you have experience in analyzing simulation waveforms using a waveform viewer/editor. You can also meet this requirement by having taken the ADE IC 5.1.41 course in the past or by having substantial experience using ADE 5.1.41 in running simulations
